Wishcasting Wednesday: Where do you wish to grow your confidence?

I have my eye set on a new endeavor.  This task I have given to myself, knowing that it will bring an ease of living to my spirit…the task of cultivating simplicity.

The garden, which is my life, has become so overgrown that I strain to find the foxglove’s delicate thimbles for all the dandelion jungles and sprawling honeysuckle vines which have taken over.

My life is filled with stories marked by memento and memorabilia which fill the corners and crevices of my home. I want space to make new memories.

WHERE DO I WISH TO GROW MY CONFIDENCE?

I wish to reach down to that place inside where I sometimes cling onto things as a way of holding onto memories.  I want to grow the confidence to let go of those things, knowing that the stories I have associated with them can ultimately be anchored in my heart.

~To the Collector in Me~

Hello, dear one.  You have held on for so long.  You have tried so desperately not to lose the past by holding onto bits and pieces of it that you have almost buried yourself in your treasures.  This is the time to let go.  There will be a freedom that comes with pruning back what is taking over.  Instead of bogging yourself down in  the things of yesterday, open up to the stories of family and friends, loved ones passed and gone. Become the collector of those great memories by holding them in your heart, but not by continuing to be the keeper of the things that were left behind.  I know you are afraid you will forget.  But there is no possible guarantee.  You can grow old knowing that the memories you have tended are like seeds..some will last longer than others.  Some will bloom for a season, to be forgotten with the coming of the clouds, rain, and cold….and some will reach to the skies with limbs and leaf, living as strong in memory as they did in action. It is true that stories are powerful and carry the ability to help us know ourselves, but this life is not just for reminiscing.  No matter how tight you hold onto the memories, being a collector of stories can never shine as brightly as actually living the stories.  So clean up, let go….and then get back to making a few good doosies!

As Rae wishes for herself, I wish for her also. I have just recently been doing this, clearing out the clutter and getting rid of all the excess stuff holding me back and down. I’m not done yet, but as I go through the areas that I’ve worked through, it is so refreshing and enjoyable. So much easier to breathe. To help me on my path, especially in the area of magazines and paper memorabilia, a friend shared with me…that is all about being afraid that what you need won’t be there when you need it. I think this is exactly what you are saying here. Trust that everything you need will come into your life when you need it….including memories. Also, you can take a picture of things you will be getting rid of and load them into a file on the computer. Then you can look through and rouse your memories whenever you want without having to manage all the stuff. I hope your freeing wish comes to pass!

Thanks for sharing this perspective. The fear that I won’t have what I need when I need it is strong. But the tides are turning. I am planning on digitally collecting what I want to hold onto. That is a great tool that I have just recently started engaging more fully.

Holy moley! What a beautiful wish! I especially love what your wrote: There will be a freedom that comes with pruning back what is taking over.

    So true!

As Rae wishes for herself, so I wish for her also.

PS I love that picture! It’s so saturated with color. It’s funky and fun. That statue is something else!

    • Rae says:

Thanks, Wendi. The statue is from Raymond, Washington. There isn’t a mile that goes by in that town that you don’t pass a statue that is done in that style. My hubby and I just had to stop and play as we were passing through.

When you let go of things from the past, you open your life to the abundance of great things to come!

  15. I did some major decluttering when we moved about a year and a half ago. It felt wonderful to shed those unneeded things. Some went to new homes, some to the thrift store, some to the trash, but it all felt good. We have space in our new home, and it is delightful!

As Rae wishes for herself, so do I enthusiastically and loving wish for her also!

  16. Grace says:

And what a wonderful time to “Let Go” of things that are no longer serving your highest good! There’s the new moon in Libra (all about balance, our relationships, etc.), and it’s FALL! I just love it when the inner urginings of our soul follow the natural cycles of the universe…it speaks to me of lots and lots of energy to accomplish your heart’s desire!

As you wish for youreself, I wish for you as well!

  17. Milena says:

As you wish for yourself I wish for you also. I fully understand how hard it is to let go and wish you the strength and courage you need to do so xxx
