A Taste of Nia

How about a little taste of Nia?  After my last entry where I talked about the healing I received from doing Nia years ago, several people asked for more information about it.  Here is a quick video that shows a bit of Nia in action. Or click on the word Nia to take you to the official website which includes a shop with DVD’s for doing Nia at home.

I love dancing! This reminds me how much so! But there are other mind/body movement methods like this that we should mention, like Soul Motion and any form of Ecstatic dance or Trance Dance. Hmmm… this makes me think that if the days of Nia have past for me, will there be something better to come into my life?

  2. Rae says:

I hope so, Jess…you have a gift there. I was even thinking as I watched Debbie move how I had seen you do so many of those moves and yet I could relate to how your body took on the movement more than I could hers.

  3. Karla says:

    Rae,

Thank you for senting me the video of the Nia dance, now I know what the move is. Sound like fun. I will have to think, if I would like to buy the dvd, where I can do it at home.

  4. thanks for sharing your story! I teach Nia in Toronto and it’s been so wonderfully healing for me too!

Mindfulness-it takes alot of discipline to be in the present. Hats off to you!
As you wish for yourself, I wish for you also.
