Storytime: The Travelin’ Medicine Show Man

My husband, Eric Payne, is an artist who loves stories.  I have invited him to spin his tales with pictures and words here at The Art of Collecting Yourself.  I hope you enjoy his creativity as much as I do.Here he comes, blowing into town on an autumn breeze. He’s setting up shop in the middle of the night, selling mysterious potions from unknown, faraway places. He has everything you want, for a price. When you wake the next morning, your pockets empty as all the bottles of snake oil you bought, you think on the excitement you felt watching the illusions, the acrobats, and the gypsy carnival people for one day. Your brother calls you a fool and a wastrel. The town elders rant against the corrupting influence of the strangers, but you can’t wait for next fall.

Expect to see Eric around The Art of Collecting Yourself more often.  There is so much creativity bubbling up in our house, it is good to have a place to put it.  Welcome, Eric!
