Show and Tell: Rigorous Self-Love

Earlier this week as I began to contemplate the connection between personal transformation and mental wellness, I kept being drawn towards the concept of self-love.  Self-love is a concept I have placed at the capstone of my healing journey.  If you are just finding your way here, perhaps you would like to add a few thoughts of your own about self-love.  If you have been participating in the Wellness Art-ivity for this week, I can’t wait to hear what your experience has been like.  Either way, I hope you will check out the comments to follow added links to see how other Creative Spirits are feeling the love!

from Monday’s post Wellness Art-ivity: Rigorous Self-love

This week I invite you to instigate a self-love revolution in your life.  Challenge yourself to practice self-love.  Self-love begins in the heart and is shown in action, but thought can either help it or hurt it.  So become curious about how your thoughts support self-love. Everyone will have judgmental thoughts.  It is part of the human condition.  But this art-ivity invites you to have understanding and empathy for the mind’s tendency to judge.  Yes, to practice self-love of the judgement….to be gentle with the judging mind.  In that way, we help to grow in our ability to love ourselves…even the parts that could use a little work.  Then, create a work of art which shares what you have learned from your week’s focus on self-love. Post your link in the comments area below.

Rae, thank you for you gentle way of guiding us through very revealing questions about ourselves in order for us to be able to accept and love ourselves more everday as we reflect for the week about the topic.

This is a tough one for me these days. The unique position of falling so in love with your children (or another person in general) is having the willingness to lose yourself in order to devote to them. Unfortunately, I am finding that leaves me with very little left in the ol’ self-love vessel. Thanks for the reminders and lessons on this.

I loved the energy of this week – extending love to myself felt SO good! Extending love to those negative self-thoughts felt so compassionate, and I could actually feel the knot of them dissolving in the love. Delicious!

Hi Rae, I agree with all of the above.
    I did this post

I am a bit late for this art-ivity, but sometimes creativity has a mind of its own! 🙂
