Wishcasting Wednesday: What do you wish to begin?

Today is the beginning of a new year for my blog.  When I started out, I wondered where in the world I would go with it.  I knew it needed to center around living creatively because that is how I live.  The blog has connected with people from many corners of the globe…from the United States where I make my home, to our neighbors to the North and South….folks in my own neighborhood read the blog and individuals on the other side of the Earth read it.  I feel blessed to have this growing and eclectic readership, many of whom are becoming friends.

My blog started to take off when I discovered Jamie Ridler‘s Wishcasting Wednesday.  I know part of that is that there is a community of awesome Creatives who huddle around the activities she presents, but the other part is that the wishcasting gave me a practice that made me accountable to my dreams.  There is great power in that.

Today’s wishcast prompt asks what I wish to begin.  About 6 months ago, I was inspired to create another website.  It is tucked away in my back pocket, waiting for the right time to play the card. It is a bit more complex than this blog.  Part of that is a technical thing and part is fully discovering its intention.

This other blog is based on a dream I have cultivated for nearly 15 years.  In some ways it mirrors the Art of Collecting Yourself site, but in some ways, it is edgier. It helps to talk about it here. Although I realize I am not REALLY saying anything about it.  It’s like showing someone your house when you only have the lumber in the yard.

Today’s wishcast is about my other site.  I have a friend who has said she will help me with the technical stuff.  I also serendipitously got connected with a 30 day writing project that I am very excited about.  It celebrates the 208th birthday of Ralph Waldo Emerson by offering daily prompts that encourage self-trust.  I can’t think of a better way to discern what I want for my blog…and for my life.

I am adding this to the 30 Days of Creativity that I started at the beginning of the month.

I think contacting my friend and pursuing the #Trust30 and #30DaysofCreativity projects will catapult my new blogsite into actuality. What more perfect time to do that?  The second year begins, and so does the second part of the journey.

For all those wishcasters who find their way here this week and for those who have found their way here to support my wishes in the past, I offer deep gratitude.  Thank you for cheering me one this year gone by.  I value your enthusiasm.  Please be my guest and sign up for the give-aways (by leaving a comment on the post associated with the pieces you are interested in) I am hosting for two works of art and a skeleton cuff bracelet.  The drawing will take place on the 15th.

How cool that you got to see Julia Cameron live! It must have been a wonderful experience.

    • Rae says:

Paula, it was a blast….and very meaningful. She is feisty! Wore a grey wool suit like she was all conservative and then revealed (in a funny but not trashy way) that she wore red lingerie beneath. It was a statement on never losing your creative edge….even if you had to look like you were fitting in. She has changed a lot of lives!

  20. As you wish for yourself, I also wish for you. My all your wonderful wishes, on this great day come true!
